Scope of validity
This data protection declaration gives users information about the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider.

The legal framework for data protection is the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

Collection of general information
Whenever this offer is accessed, information is automatically collected by us or by the webspace provider. This information, also referred to as server log files, is of a general nature and does not enable conclusions to be reached as to your identity.

The following information is collected among other items: name of the website, data file, date, data volume, web browser, web browser release, operating system, domain name of your Internet provider, referrer URL (the site from which you have access to our offer) and the IP address.

Without such data it would in some cases be technically impossible to deliver and display the website contents. To that extent collection of the data is absolutely necessary. In addition, we use the anonymous information for statistical purposes. This helps us to optimize the offer and technology. We also reserve the right to check the log files retroactively in case of suspicion of unlawful use of our offer.

Handling personal data
Definition: the term personal data means all information on the basis of which a person can be unambiguously identified. In other words these are data which can be traced back to a person.

Such personal data include the first name and surname, telephone number and e-mail address. Other personal data include information about hobbies, memberships and preferences as well as Internet sites that are consulted.

These data are only collected, used and if necessary passed on by the provider if that is specifically permitted by the legislator or the user consents to the collection, processing, use and disclosure of the data.

Registration on our website
If you register on our website to make use of personalized services, personal data are collected. These data include the name, address as well as the telephone number and e-mail address as contact and communication data.

Registration permits access to services and contents that are available only to registered users. If necessary, registered users have an opportunity to alter or delete at any time the data given when registering. On request, we will of course let you know which particular personal data are collected and stored. In addition, we will rectify or delete the data on request, provided that such a request is not incompatible with any statutory storage obligations. For enquiries and to ask for data to be corrected or deleted, please use the contact data quoted in this data protection declaration.

Provision of services against payment
To enable us to provide services against payment we request additional data. That applies for instance to payment particulars.

To safeguard the security of your data during transfer, we work with encryption procedures (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS which correspond to the latest state of technology.

Comment function
Where comments or other contributions are written and published on our offering, we store the IP address, the user name and the time of writing. Such data are collected for security reasons as the provider may be held liable for unlawful contents (prohibited propaganda, insults etc.) even if these were produced by a third party. In any such case, the purpose of the information is to enable the author to be identified.

Contact form
If you contact us using the online form or by e-mail we store the information given by you to answer your enquiry and enable us to put possible follow-up questions.

Incorporation of third party services and contents
Our offer includes contents and services of other providers. These include, e.g. maps made available by Google Maps, YouTube videos together with graphics and images from other websites. To enable these data to be retrieved and displayed in the user’s browser, transfer of the IP address is imperative. The providers (referred to below as “Third Party Providers”) therefore know the particular user’s IP address.

Even if we endeavor to make exclusive use of third party providers who only require the IP address to enable them to deliver contents, we have no influence on whether the IP address is or is not stored. This procedure is used for statistical and other purposes. In so far as we are aware that the IP address has been stored we call our users’ attention to that fact.

Cookies
This website uses cookies. These are text data files that are stored by the server on your computer. They contain information about the browser, IP address, operating system and Internet connection. These data items are not disclosed by us to third parties or associated with personal data without your consent.

Cookies have two main functions. They help us to make navigation through our offer easier for you and permit correct display of the website. They are not used to introduce viruses or to start programs.

Users also have the possibility of retrieving our offer without cookies. For that purpose, the relevant settings must be changed in your browser. Please enquire via the Help function of your browser how to deactivate cookies. However, we call your attention to the fact that this may impair certain functions of this website and restrict the convenience of use. The following websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (USA) and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ (Europe)  enable you to manage online advertising cookies.

Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text data files which are stored on your computer and enable your use of websites to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is as a rule transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. On the basis of the activation of IP anonymization on these websites, your IP address will, however,  be previously shortened by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other contracting States to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will a full IP address be transferred to a server of Google in the USA and abbreviated there.

On behalf of this website operator, Google will use this information to analyze your use of the website, compile reports about website activities and provide further services to the website operator in connection with website use and Internet use. The IP address transferred by your browser in the Google Analytics context will not be combined with other Google data. You may prevent storage of cookies by making an appropriate setting in your browser software. However, we wish to point out that in that case you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of this website. In addition, you may prevent collection of the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) for Google and the processing of such data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in which is available at the following link: Browser Add On to deactivate Google Analytics.
You will find further information about the conditions of use and data protection at:

Google AdWords
This website uses the “Google AdWords” online advertising program and conversion tracking in that context. Google AdWords places a cookie on your computer if you have reached our website via a Google advertisement. These cookies cease to be valid after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired we and Google may detect the fact that the user has clicked on the advertisement and been directed to this page. A different cookie is assigned to each Google AdWords client. Cookies therefore cannot be traced back via the websites of AdWords clients.

The information obtained using the conversion cookie serves to compile conversion statistics for AdWords clients who have decided in favor of conversion tracking. Clients are informed of the total number of users who have clicked onto their advertisement and were directed to a site associated with a conversion tracking tag. However, they receive no information which would enable users to be personally identified.

If you do not wish to take part in the tracking procedure you can easily deactivate the Google conversion tracking cookie via your Internet browser by going to “user settings”. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. To find out more about Google’s data protection provisions go to http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Twitter Social Plugin
This offer uses functions of the Twitter service. This is provided by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. Twitter offers what is known as the “Tweet” function. If you use the Twitter function on our websites, the websites visited by you are linked to your Twitter account and may possibly be disclosed to other users. Data are also transferred to Twitter in this connection.

We as providers are not informed of the content of the data transferred and the use made of such data by Twitter. You will find further information on this subject in the Data Protection Declaration of Twitter at http://twitter.com/privacy. At the following link, Twitter gives you an opportunity to make your own data protection settings: http://twitter.com/account/settings.

Data economy
Pursuant to the principles of data avoidance and data economy, we only store personal data as long as is necessary or prescribed by the legislator (statutory storage period). If the purpose for which the information is collected lapses or the storage period expires we either block or delete the data.

Your rights to information, rectification, blocking, erasure and objection

On request, you are entitled to ask for information free of charge about the personal data stored by us and/or to request a rectification, block or erasure. Exceptions: these cover prescribed data storage for business processing or else the data may be covered by a statutory storage obligation.

For these purposes, please contact our Data Protection Office at info@volken-consulting.ch.
To enable a data block to be respected at all times, the data must be held in a blocked data file for verification purposes. If there is no statutory archiving obligation you may also ask the data to be erased, otherwise we will block the data in so far as you wish that to be done.

Amendment of our Data Protection Declaration
To ensure that our Data Protection Declaration always meets the latest statutory requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. That likewise applies if the Data Protection Declaration has to be adjusted because new or revised services are to be provided, for example new service facilities. The new Data Protection Declaration will then take effect when you next visit our offering.
